nga-tamariki.pngAbout Te Rito- Te Whare for Nga Tamariki @MYPLC & SPELC

Te Whare Te Rito is the new shoot at the centre of the harakeke (flax).   For us it signifies the young child and also all learners,  with limitless potential, embarking on a journey of growth.

Te Whare Te Rito is a mixed age group centre which provides care and education for up to 30 children aged from eighteen months to three and a half years.  It is a community centre with some of the children's parents attending the Murihiku Young Parents Learning Centre, (MYPLC) next door.

A strong sense of belonging and well being is enhanced through whanau time and shared kai time.  We welcome whanau to spend time with us.  We work to support parents in a non -judgemental way.  Children have easy access to an environment that is well resourced and encourages exploration. Teachers actively seek and respond to parents' wishes for their children through conversations and documentation.
